Maison Thomas – This famed Cairo pizzeria has very little seating, but sometimes you can snag a table inside. However, they deliver 24 hours (and even deliver wine and beer… shhh!). While it’s famous for zillions of pizzas, it also has pasta and even Egyptian dishes if you’re hungry at 4am but want more than pizza pizza.
Gianini’s – This fancy-schmancy sit-down Italian restaurant in the north tower or the Cairo Sheraton serves up Nile views with a side of yum. Pasta, bread, pasta, wine, pasta… everything is good here. Did we mention the pasta? No? Well, pasta!
La Trattoria – Simple, clean, and delicious. Presented with no fuss but lots of flavor. This quaint little Italian bistro in Zamalek is a favorite of locals and tourists alike. It’s rare for an Italian restaurant in Egypt outside of the major five-star hotels to be able to boast a real in-house Italian chef, but this one can and does, hence its authenticity.
Il Piccolo Mondo – This Italian eatery sits on the Le Pasha 1901 boat that is permanently docked on the eastern side of Zamalek. And if you’re in the mood for a boat but not Italian, there are 7 other restaurants on Le Pasha as well. This isn’t on of those cheesy tourist dinner boats that sails, but rather a classy one that stays put.
